Abstract
The library paradigm for millennial generation is a fundamental view of what is the subject of library problems of the internet era . The current library paradigm has shifted towards the millennial generation. Millennials is the short name of generation Y, a generation in which the user of the behaving behaves as someone that is hungry for knowledge . This millennial generation library paradigm is characterized by a learning society that always interacts with the internet wherever and whenever it requires information . So library services that are still outdated must change and must be able to accommodate changes in people's behavior in access to information . With advances in information technology , libraries must always look for ways to utilize the latest information technology innovations so that the quality of services continues to increaseInternet users always use information technology in their lives are often called gadget generations.
Preface
S.R.Raganathan said about the "Five Laws of Library Science" , so the five laws are the basic principles of library science . But the fifth point , namely "The library is growing organism". This means that the library is an organism that is always developing. Growing here means growing better . This is as seen in the current library which is very rapidly growing . The current condition of the library show that library service innovations are starting to grow reflexively towards the millennial generation. Then does the presence of the internet make the libraryemptied of visitors?. Especially at this time , want to search for information is immediately certain to use "Google". Once typed and click on google immediately thousands of hit to appear. So that the library is not left by the user , so that the user does not diminish, the library must be responsive in welcoming this change. Do the presence of internet library users will be abandoned?.
If the library is responsive to changes and corrects deficiencies, then the library is still in great demand by users . Then what is the difference between a library and the internet?. The difference lies in the information content . If the internet sometimes the information obtained is not full , while in the library the information obtained can be in full of its physical documents . The information age and openness now increasingly shows how important that information is. The development of information and communication technology has rapidly developed. Industrial Era 4.0 has forced people to competefor interacting with computers. Currently laptops and smartphones are no longer a luxury and rare item. Almost everywhere we always get people that use laptops and smartphones. Especially if there is a wifi area, then it must be more interesting for visitors because it will be easier to access the internet. Favorite placesthat is currently a place that provides free wifi. So that visitors can access various information according to their needs.
Part I
Millennial Genertion and Information Technology
The meaning of millennium , then the Latin word 'millennium ' can be interpreted as 'a thousand years'. The word millennium is a combination of two words , namely 'mille ' which means thousand and 'annus ' which means year . Further indications of the millennium era are social phenomena that are manifested by the behavior of library users . This will obviously be dominated by young people that are very familiar with the name Information and Communication Technology. The rapid development of communication and information technology clearly has a significant impact on the existence of libraries . A library must be responsive about Information and Communication Technology trends .
The demand for easy access to information that is instant , precise , and the availability of facilities that is applied will represent the information service system that is served by the library. In the author's view, then here I submit a few things that can be used as a discourse to change the paradigm in the new face of the millennial era library . The forms of application include:
1. The library must provide a wifi area or hotspot area, so that it allows easy users to surf searching for information on the internet. So the library must emulate services such as in food courts, supermarkets/malls , downtown , and other places that provide free hotspot areas. 2. Libraries should no longer have many restrictions which suggest that libraries are bureaucratic and feudal. Especially for clothes , I think enough to dress neatly and politely is enough. Especially for the type of public library , can dress freely and without shoes. 3. It is time for the library to start changing the atmosphere of the library so that it becomes a center of learning for the community . If there is a prohibition , warning sentences should be made more polite, for example , starting with the word " Please .". be not that important to users is to get information and not appearance . 4. Libraries should not only appear with the old paradigm that seems rigid and feudal with the facilities of magnificent buildings , furniture , shelves , tables , or chairs . But it would be better if made special corners that prioritize the value of interior design art . The unique form of shelves combined with furniture and a combination of room paints / painted colors that contain artistic value will make users feel comfortable with the corner . Carpets , sofas , short tables , and seating on the floor with foam , this is very impressive that being in the library rooms / roomed are as pleasant as being at home. 5. The library should not have banned users that bring laptops to the library room . However, the library should instead provide access to electric current that is scattered in several places . It is better if the model is one carrel table with one electric current , so users can be more comfortable . The more interest in library users carrying a laptop means that the level of information technology usage is also high. 6. There should be no need to ban eating and drinking in the library room anymore. I think users are " mature " at how to keep food scraps or oil from getting dirty or touching books. Imagine if the library also provided a corner of selling snacks and drinks . For example : soft drinks, pop noodles, bread, sweets, and other snacks. Well surely users will feel happy , because if hungry , while the position is browsing information about / on the library , then there is no need to bother getting out of the library area. Gratitude the library also provides free drinking water (gallons ) for users . 7. There should be no library system that is too 'bureaucratic, for example photocopy procedures , membership procedures , card making procedures , and other procedures that are demanding and bureaucratic . Simple library system rules to make it easier about users and can persuade others to access the library. 8. Libraries also no longer need a ban not to bring stofmaps , jackets, etc . to the library room . But the library should be complemented by backing up technology , such as RFID and alarm sensors. 9. Libraries must continue to develop with the latest information technology innovations, both covering infrastructure and facilities. Libraries must build links and networks with other libraries , and increase subscriptions to e-journals and e-books.
Knowledge is one of the competitive advantages that a nation needs to have to compete globally. So as to achieve a variety of knowledges, information technology is needed to realize progress of all fields . In facing the rapid development of Science and Technology Library , there are several principles that must be considered , including : 1 The need for education and training to be held in various fields of relevant information technology development. 2. The development of concepts that are clear , realistic , and can be carried out consequently for the people that want to be built in the future and the technology needed to make it happen. 3. Technology is incomprehensible if it is only developed in the abstract, . So it needs to be emphasized that technology can only be mastered and further developed if the community implements concrete problem solving. 4. Must have a strong determination to strive alone in solving technological problems faced . 5 . The development of national capabilities in the field of technology usually at an early stage still requires protection , and lasts until the ability to compete internationally. Therefore , the application of information technology in the library must be evaluated and improved continuously , and continuously along with the presence of new information technology technology innovations

Library Facility and services for Millennial Generation
Another term of the millennial generation is the generation of gadgets . Gadgets are actually more fitting to be interpreted with information and communication technology equipment. So the generation of gadgets is the generation that in their lives always uses information and communication technology equipment: such as laptop, smartphones, tablet's, cameras, and other equipment related to information and communication technology. So various information and communication technology tools have become a part of their lives. Various high-technology equipment has become an important part of his life. Millennials always checked whatsapp, email, and other social media all the time.
According to Absher and Amidjaya (2008 ) that the millennial generation is a generation born between 1982 and 2002. Generations of the millennial era are: google generation, net generation, generation Z, echo boomers , and dumbest generation. Therefore, millennial generation can be marked by the increasing use of information and communication technology equipment .
Tapscott (2008:15) states that as the term of this new millennial generation is called the Generation Z. Some of the characteristics of this Z generation, such as: people want freedom in acting from choosing to freedom of expression, very happy to do customization and personalization. So the presence of this generation Z will obviously become a new supervisor and commentator and a driver of change in a library.
Generation Z people rely heavily on instant speed, so real time is the main requirement to connect with this Z generation. Ease of information can be obtained by the internet. Millennials are innovators , because they seek, learn and work in an innovation environment that relies heavily on information technology and education to make changes in various aspects of their lives .
The thing that characterizes this generation Z is clearly all related to technology , for example: 1). Instant Communications, that this generation lives in a real time environment and is looking for a convenient way for communication. So instant communication is an important keyword and is a convenience for doing what they enjoy; 2). Network Development, which is developing a network that allows this generation to connect with each other to connect and collaborate. So collaboration is a new way of designing their freedom; 3). Gadget-Powered Connection, the generation of gadget lovers that are always connected with gadgets. So the adoption of information and communication technology becomes very prominent in this Z generation .
A wise attitude is very necessary in the internet age. The internet is a miracle in the 21st century. Humans can use it for good, progress and also for evil. Various articles uploaded on the internet will be accessed very quickly throughout the world. The era of the internet is indeed an era of openness, because anyone can also express all their feelings through the internet, whether good or bad responses. We know that information is everywhere. The flood of information has created major changes in influencing the behavior of people who access information.
.
Information can be interesting to someone, but it can also be unattractive to others. The behavior of the Indonesian people in the era of information disclosure and the progress of information technology today has indicated a fundamental change in a generation in obtaining information. This is what represents a millennial generation born in the midst of the rapid growth of computers and the internet. Library services in this millennial generation must be adaptive and ready-to-serve in serving this millennial generation.
The library becomes very prospective in future development. Services in the library must be able to be reflexive to this millennial generation. Libraries must change the paradigm that seems feudal into the paradigm of online libraries with web-based services. Libraries today must prioritize the quality of multi-role information services. I think free wifi area installation is something that is mandatory in a library in this millennial generation era.
Conclusion
Internet technology must be put to good use by libraries to improve service quality in the millennial generation. This new phenomenon will change the principle of service that has been adhered to by the library, namely to enrich the collection and increase users to come to the library. With the internet the service paradigm needs to be changed to enhance access to information and information sources. With the internet library services will overcome the limitations of space and time and bureaucracy. But to go to that condition librarians must prepare themselves by understanding and adopting information and communication technology, as well as the characteristics of millennial generation. Libraries need to concentrate on the content of information rather than internet infrastructure that has been initiated and handled by professions or other parties. Libraries need to change their attitudes and work culture so that they are in accordance with the current conditions that demand work quickly, precisely and efficiently. So it's not working hard but working right or smart. The millennial generation in the study of information becomes something that is very interesting for policy makers to change the old paradigm of the library.
The current millennial generation principle that accessing information can be done easily by surfing the internet anytime and anywhere, not necessarily to the library. So that the library is not left by the user, then the library must change in the provision of various infrastructure, facilities, infrastructure, and aspects of library organization policy that supports the millennial generation.
